Mission Statement
The Builders Association of South Central Oklahoma represents industry professionals through education, information and networking.

NORMAN, OKLAHOMA - listed by Money Magazine as the 6th Best Place to Live.

INSURANCE: ARE YOU IN COMPLIANCE? - Senate Bill 306 mandates that any entity issuing a building permit must first verify general liability and workers’ compensation insurance before they can issue that permit. The bill does allow for the workers’ compensation affidavit for those who are sole proprietors. However, BASCO advocates carrying the minimum premium policy as a back-up in case one of your subcontractors does not carry what is required. This law went into effect on November 1, 2009.

SENATE BILL 1182 - Created the Uniform State Building Code Commission. This new commission is currently meeting to establish a statewide building code.

A statewide code will make it easier for those builders building in different cities and jurisdictions. This law went into effect on July 1, 2009.
